01/06/21 Just Another Normal Group of Tourists?

The most absurd statement, however, came from Rep. Andrew Clyde (R. Georgia) who said, out loud, in public: “Let me be clear, there was no insurrection and to call it an insurrection, in my opinion, is a bold-faced lie. Watching the TV footage of those who entered the Capitol and walked through Statuary Hall showed people in an orderly fashion staying between the stanchions and ropes taking videos and pictures. You know, if you didn’t know the TV footage was a video from January 6, you would actually think it was a normal tourist visit.” – Vanity Fair- HIVE – May 12, 2021

Seriously? Comments like Rep. Clyde’s insult the intelligence of all Americans and our friends across the globe.

To woman in the picture: help me understand what motivated you to take leave of your senses – who are your people?

We seem to have a solid 30% of the population happy and determined to see fascism established in the US. And a truly disturbing number of the GOP “leadership” out there on the outer fringes of the rational spectrum. So many cultists. So many grifters.

It’s said that early 1930’s Germany had one-third of the population anti-Nazi, one-third, Nazi and one-third not paying attention. It was enough to get Hitler elected so he could install himself.

    • I didn’t know that, but I can certainly see the analogy. The worst are those who ignore, pretend, whatever.
I’m afraid we’ve had a democracy for so long we have forgotten what it means. Really forgotten.

I want to start seeing charges laid on the “Generals” who plotted this insurrection. I’m aggravated with how long it’s taking. They should’ve had their senses whipped back into them the night of the 6th!!

Question for Clyde: how often do tourists smear their feces on the walls …or break down doors of private offices and steal personal property …or scream that they want to hang someone?

Jim Clyburn said, “we know the “what” and we know the “where”. And now we need to know the “why” and the “who”. Why would any American not want these questions answered. It makes no sense. These elected officials have put their party and positions over the what is good for the country. I so wish Fox News could be sued for all of the misinformation it spews!

    • Clyburn knows the why and the who, too – it would be great if everyone agreed. Yes, I’ve never understood why Fox gets by with what they air. Must be that old freedom of the press amendment. Damn. Gets you every time.
