nothing says summer in the south like crape myrtles and heat

my favorites in our front yard

temperature on screen porch at 5:00 p.m. yesterday

Have mercy – it’s done turned hot over here in South Carolina for the first day of August in 2024.

I feel a twinge of the vapors coming on…or maybe it’s a case of the Olympic Fever.

Wow! That’s hot. Presumably the thermometer is not in a shady spot. Pretty hot and steamy up north in NYC too.

Very observant of you, Josie! Yes, I forgot and left the thermometer on the little table on the screen porch that gets tons of sun in the afternoon. It still felt pretty warm, though!! πŸ™‚

Ugh! That’s too hot! The crape myrtles are best viewed from the window of an air-conditioned house or car.

As my Frannie says, “Stay cool and beautiful.”
